Stevens New Model No. 40 Tip-Up Pocket Rifle, #21123, .22 RF cal., blued 10'' part octagon-part round barrel with hooded Beach-style front and folding adjustable rear sights marked on top flat ''J. Stevens A & T Co./Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A.'' in two lines; nickel-plated steel frame with barrel release button, separate triggerguard, and integral gripstraps; blued hammer and trigger; two-piece varnished walnut grips. Mfg'd 1896-1916. Condition is fine+, the barrel retaining approx. 70% original blue turning brown where missing underneath, the frame and gripstraps with 95% bright nickel (flaking to backstrap), the grips smooth and without cracks or chips. Lacks the detachable shoulder stock. Action is tight and smooth, bore is shiny with shallow rifling. Est.: $350-$550. (C&R/PPT)
